ReadyVoicePBX: Custom Asterisk EC2 AMI on Amazon AWS Optimized for VoIP
Hello 2013. It has been a long time since I last posted and I finally have some time to publish the ReadyVoicePBX AMI to you. ReadyVoicePBX is an Amazon AMI running Amazon Linux x64 and Asterisk 1.8 LTS for a stable platform. This setup is actually what we use in our Hosted VoIP company: ExpressVoice PBX and was a catalyst in creating this AMI. Please note that this AMI does not have DAHDI installed as it complicates basic Asterisk Operation from our experience.
ReadyVoicePBX AMI does not have anything configured so you will need to edit the configuration files to your liking. Therefore, a quick rundown of articles in this site will give you a good head start with regards to connecting to a SIP Provider and provisioning IP Phones to work with ReadyVoicePBX.

Since this AMI does not have any configuration settings and contain sample configuration files only, it is wise to make copies of the base configuration files for reference in the future. You can copy/rename the sample configurations by typing at the command prompt:
– cp extensions.conf extensions.conf.default
– cp sip.conf sip.conf.default
– cp voicemail.conf voicemail.conf.default
– cp features.conf features.conf.default
