Small Business VoIP Guide – Customized Greetings

Customized Inbound Greetings for Small Business VoIP

This is Part 3 of the series on Why Small to Medium Sized Businesses (SMB) should be using VoIP.

Utilizing multiple IVRs, different inbound calls can be programmed to use its own distinctive custom greeting.  This is particularly useful if you have multiple companies or department that share one Asterisk IP PBX system.

A good example of this type of usage is a Real Estate Broker / Property Management company.  With this type of a business, a single Asterisk VoIP system can be used to virtually segment two separate companies using two separate IVRs.

Example of two separate Greetings:

  • For calls to 503-555-1111, the system will initiate Real Estate Brokerage IVR with its own customized greeting.
  • For calls to 503-555-2222, the system will initiate Property Management IVR with its own customized greeting.

With this configuration, you are able to seamlessly provide one phone number in all of your marketing materials for each company or department.
