Integrating your Asterisk IP PBX with nexVortex SIP Provider
As a Small Business VoIP Consultant, I love trying out new providers as it gives me a chance to experience first hand their service level, knowledge, and features. As a consultant, it is my duty to use or recommend a quality voice provider.
If I install a Asterisk IP PBX in a Small Office with a SIP provider that has poor quality, it will make the entire installation look bad. As far as I am concerned, there is only so much I can blame on the provider so the buck has to stop with me. With that being said, if you know of a good provider, please feel free to share it with me.
I have written about integrating Anveo’s service to an Asterisk EC2 AWS PBX before which resulted in a very positive experience. I am still having a growing Software Development company test the Anveo system to make sure it is ready for prime time. With that integration going well, I was searching for another provider to stress test the system with a growing Medical Office.
My plan is to use Anveo for a Software Development company and use the nexVortex for the Medical Office. Each company will use its own context and call groups specifying which outbound connection to use.
The result of my search: I came across a provider called nexVortex and ended up signing up for their service. The reason it piqued my interest was their reasonable pricing, and features. Now there is nothing spectacular about it but a lot of SIP providers give you a SIP trunk with a set number of channels or connections. This means that I can have 5 inbound DIDs but I am limited to 3 concurrent connections. While you can think it is a little strange, it is better than analog circuits where you have one line and one connection or two with call waiting.
nexVortex allowed me to have unlimited number of concurrent connections and their pricing was very fair. I initially opted for the Business Pro Plan with 2000 incoming/outgoing minutes with 1 DID and unlimited connections but decided to try them out first so ended up ordering the Metered Plan. This plan inludes 500 incoming/outgoing minutes, 1 DID and unlimited connections as well. All this for $25 was a no brainer for me.
NOTE: I liked this SIP provider so much that I am planning to use this SIP provider exclusively. If you need a SIP trunks, look into nexVortex via this personalized link.
To integrate nexVortex with your Asterisk, they have a diverse Support and FAQ section with configuration instructions for many different systems/vendors. Please note that the Asterisk information is a little outdated so make sure to use authusername=” ” instead of username=” ” in sip.conf.
If you have providers that you have had either good or bad experiences with, please let us know by commenting on the article or by posting on our facebook page. Knowledge is key and it would be great to share with others.
DISCLOSURE: I have signed up as a reseller for nexVortex, therefore, all links to nexVortex are pointing to a branded portal page where you can sign up for service.
